3 remixes for Myspace

I'm supposed to get back the mastered Bomb Sun remixes today. The mastering is being handled by Alex at Red Tuxedo Mastering. I've never met Alex in person, but he and I frequent the saxophone website Sax On The Web. He offered to master a track or two for free for any of the regulars on SOTW. I was able to take him up on his offer and his work brought a lot of presence and clarity to my track "Air and Wind". Now he is working on some Combat Jazz remixes that Bomb Sun did. These remixes really add whoomph to the bass and drums (er, at the expense of the horns.) The remixes should get up on Myspace by early next week.

Fire Hood

I had some forward momentum with the Combat Jazz album this weekend. 1) I put together a reasonable sounding master consisting of 9 tracks mastered by Steven Walcott at Engine Studios and "Air and Wind" (the hit?) mastered by Alex at Red Tuxedo; 2) Declan named the album Fire Hood and drew a draft of the cover art; 3) I thought about the remixes done by Bomb Sun...I think I'm going to have those remixes mastered (otherwise the bass is too rumbling/distorted) and use the remixes for Myspace.

I'm going to manufacture 50 CDs this week to give out to folks and for shopping for a record deal.
