Fumio is going to deliver the mixed multi-track recording of the Rose Live Music gig today. He is delivering food for the SOUEN restaurant in Soho...so I'm going to order lunch from there.
Also, I'm working on new songs for a recording in November...probably in the vein modal Coltrane-ish stuff rather than Afrobeat.

Rose Live Music multi-track
Rose Live Music made a multi-track recording of our Aug. 10th gig. Unfortunately, it is unmixed. I'm bringing over to Fumio's tomorrow for mixing. Hopefully, I'll have some choice stuff up on myspace in the next two weeks.

just played 2nd gig
Combat Jazz played a gig at Rose Live Music in Williamsburg on Monday night. From a music standpoint, it was a success and the band was great. Attendance was not good...only a few people, but I'm super grateful to those who trekked out to see us...Tess, Caitlin, Vandra, Kathy Mills, Chris from Putumayo. Margo did a good job trying to get folks out to the gig. Williamsburg was dead on Monday night, so I don't take it personally.
The bummer was that the soundman didn't burn us a CD of our performance. We played seven songs.
Line up for gig: John McQueeney (tenor sax); Kurt Hoffman (Bari Sax); Iakov Kremenskiy (guitar); Fumio Tashiro (Bass); Tripp Dudley (drums.)
I'd like to play Rose again...I'm also trying to line up a gig at Barbes.
